The bus is fine. Better than fine, even.
Landing gear got fixed. My buddy David (supremely mechanically gifted) had the piece disassembled, torches lit, and was bashing that thing back into shape in no time.
If you are thinking about buying a bus, highly recommend you have a friend who knows how to do just about everything, and who has the tools necessary to make it happen. Invaluable.
Bus has tail lights now. David couldn’t help me crack the cause of the non-responsive running lights, so I took it to a mechanic. Bus stayed a couple weeks in the shop, but they got the lights working…at a price. When I told David how much they charged to rewire the tail lights, I got this in response:

Bus lesson learned. At least I got tail lights out of it.
Neighbors brought me a stocking and tiny tree to decorate the bus for the holidays. Spruce the interior up with some festive cheer…right before I embark on an international trip that’s going to keep me out of the country and away from the bus for the entirety of the holidays.
Getting out of this place for a bit. Going to Thailand/Laos/Vietnam/South Korea starting tomorrow. Watch this space for periodic travel updates over the next month (non-bus related)
